NCFA ARTS SECTOR MEETING AND POST-BUDGET UPDATE. 23RD NOVEMBER. 11AM-12.30PM.
19th November 2021
Arts Sector Meeting | 10th March, 2pm
4th March 2022

The National Campaign for the Arts is looking for artists and arts workers to join the campaign to keep the arts at the centre of Irish life and policy. The NCFA steering committee is currently comprised of nine volunteer artists and arts workers. We now wish to bring new energy to our work, replace retiring members and expand that committee by bringing new volunteers on board between April and August 2022.

The NCFA steering committee work is informed by engagement with the arts sector to take soundings on key issues before devising strategic advocacy campaigns. Our work includes regular sectoral meetings, local constituency coordination, strategic planning and communications, and meeting with key arts and political stakeholders and policy makers. We work both behind the scenes and in public taking on campaign issues and running with them, creating an annual pre-budget submission and meeting with all political parties as well as Government.

We are looking for people with energy and commitment to dive in to this hands on work. While campaign energy is vital we are also looking for people with an understanding of policy making and stakeholder management to build on the work of the NCFA to date. We are looking for tenacity, sustained commitment and a campaigning spirit.

The NCFA welcomes applications from artists and arts workers working in all art forms and would like to encourage applications by artists from a diversity of national, ethnic or cultural groups and people with disabilities. In order to represent contemporary Irish society and the arts we are committed to accessibility, geographical spread and a range of artistic practices, experiences and art forms.

If you would like to express an interest in joining the NCFA steering committee please send a one page document including a biog to info@ncfa.ie by 11th March 2022. Please let us know your interest in joining the NCFA setting out your areas of expertise and your experience in the arts. If you would like to discuss in advance or preparing an expression of interest you can contact us at the email above for a conversation with one of the steering committee.

Help the NCFA continue to advocate for the arts in Ireland.
