Sign up for an online meeting about Social Welfare payments and rent supports available during the COVID-19 crisis and how to navigate them. The meeting will take place via Zoom at 3.30pm on Friday 17th April.

Hosted by the National Campaign for the Arts (NCFA) with Irish Equity/SIPTU and Theatre Forum.

Speakers

Karan O’Loughlin represents artists and arts workers through Irish Equity and SIPTU. Karan will discuss the current social protection scheme for artists and the COVID-19 Pandemic Unemployment Payment. Karan will outline some of the issues that artists and arts workers have experienced in accessing the COVID-19 Pandemic Unemployment Payment and take questions from participants on their individual situations and difficulties in accessing this support.

Regina Baylor is the Assistant Manager of the Tenancy Protection Service and will provide information on supports that are available for people affected by COVID-19 in the private rental sector.

Karan and Regina will be joined by an accountant familiar with the employment, tax, benefits and income support challenges that artists and arts workers are experiencing during the crisis.

The meeting will be moderated by Tom Creed, theatre and opera director and member of the Steering Committee of NCFA.
